Valentine's Day Dinner Ideas 2017

Here are some of the Valentine’s Day dinner ideas and special recipes to make your partner love you more for cooking it for them.

Blue Cheese coated Filet Mignon with Port Wine Sauce

Servings – 4 people
Ingredients

1 tablespoon butter
3/4 cup low-sodium beef broth
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup minced white onion
1/2 cup port wine
4 filet mignon steaks (1 1/2 inch thick)
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
Method





Put some butter in a skillet and let it melt completely over medium heat.

Take a pan and add the onion, thyme and garlic. Cook and keep stirring till the onions become tender and a little brownish in color. Mix the beef broth, rubbing any onion bits from the bottom of the pan and then add in it the port wine. Let the mixture boil till it becomes ½ a cup. Remove from the heat and set aside.

Heat oil in an oven-skillet over high heat. Put the steaks into the pan and let them sear till they become brown on both sides. Place the pan into the oven that has been pre-heated to 350 degrees.

Let the steaks roast in the oven for 15 minutes for medium. Take the pan out from the oven and place it on a baking sheet. Add the panko crumbs and blue cheese to the roasted steak and stir it well. Ensure that the steaks are layered with this mixture.

Put the steaks under the preheated broiler for 3 to 4 minutes or more till you find the cheese topping getting brown and bubbly popping out of it. Take it out from the oven, and let it cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. Relish the taste of this fabulous delicacies with warm port wine sauce.

Valentine’s Salmon

Servings -4 people

Ingredients

1 slice bacon, sliced
1 leek, white and tender green parts only, halved lengthwise and sliced
Salt to taste

1/2 cups diced Yukon Gold potatoes
1/2 teaspoon butter
1 clove garlic
8 green onions
1 teaspoon tarragonDijonmustard
1 pinch cayenne pepper
2 (12 ounce) center-cut salmon fillets
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons Asian chili paste
Method

Add onions to slightly salted water and boil it till it becomes soft. Drain the onions once the cooking process stops and set it aside.

Put bacon in a skillet and cook over medium-low heat till it becomes browned. Add leek, salt, garlic and butter and stir till leek becomes tender. Put the potatoes and water and season it with cayenne pepper and salt. Let it simmer till the potatoes become soft. Remove it and set aside.

Cover the baking dish with parchment paper that is lightly layered with vegetable oil and out it in a preheated oven to 375 degrees.

Chop off the belly, the bottom and 1/3 of the fillet to make each salmon filet. Cover each piece with season with salt and black pepper. Cover salmon packet with green onions tucking at ends on the underside.

Bake the salmon packets coated with vegetable oil in an oven till it is no longer translucent inside.

Mix chopped green onion to heat potato leek soup and season with salt and black pepper. Serve hot.
