7 winter shoe care tips

- Polish your shoes regularly.

When your shoes get too dry, it can cause cracks in them or change the shape so they don't fit as well. Polishing your shoes is like moisturizing your skin; it keeps them from drying out (and makes them look nicer besides).

-  Use a water protector.
Water is one of the biggest offenders for wearing shoes out. You probably can't pull off never wearing your shoes in the rain, sleet, or snow, but you can make sure they're better protected when you do.

It's best to cover your shoes in a water protector solution soon after purchasing them and then again once each season. If you've never done anything to protect those old shoes before, it's not too late. Go ahead and buy some water protector and get started.

-  Let them dry naturally.

Don't try to rush the process of drying out wet shoes with a dryer or heater. That will only warp the shape and potentially damage the material they're made of. If your shoes have gotten wet, give them time to dry naturally before wearing them again.

- Use shoe trees (or paper).

While rain can cause some problems for shoe longevity, there's a more consistent threat of moisture with every use: foot sweat.

Shoe trees help absorb some of that daily moisture and the odor it causes while you store your shoes at the end of the day. They also help your shoes keep their rightful shape over years of use.

If you don't want to spend the $20 or so a shoe tree costs, you can bunch up some paper to use for the same purpose.

-  Get sole protectors.

Soles are the part of the shoe that will wear out the fastest and many shoes aren't made with especially strong ones. A cobbler will usually put sole protectors on your shoes for around $20-$30.

- Switch them out.

Shoes need a break from time to time. I know the point of the post was to help you avoid spending money on a new pair of shoes, but if you only have one good pair you're wearing most days, you're not going to get the best bang for your buck.

-  Replace the lifts on heels with a stronger version.

For high heels, the weakest link is the lift. Many women know the experience of a lift breaking off a high-heeled shoe at an inconvenient moment. Most high heels come with plastic lifts, but a shoe repairman can swap those out with rubber lifts that will last much longer.

A good pair of shoes can save you the trouble of having to buy new pairs each season and bring you comfort throughout the day. A few simple tricks can help you hang on to that good pair once you've got it.  You can shop this items at Kohls.com. Get Free Shipping on Daily Deals only at Kohls. 15 Gift Wrapping Ideas to Make Your Gifts Sparkle

15 Gift Wrapping Ideas to Make Your Gifts Sparkle:

- Trendy and Sweet

Who doesn’t love a little glitter on their gifts? Stacey Mika from Anastasia Marie Stationery created these mini flags from metallic card stock. Simply cut the cardstock into your desired shape, punch a hole in them and loop a piece of string throughout. Tie the string around your gift box and you’ve got yourself a beautiful and creatively wrapped gift that will be sure to stand out!

- Luxurious and Eclectic

Combine a mixture of materials to create this luxuriously eclectic look. The team at Green Wedding Shoescombined a silk flower with gold painted faux berry branches and spotted feathers to create this delicate gift wrap design. Tie the elements together with a piece of rustic twine and add a handwritten gift tag for the finishing touch.

- Feminine and Chic

Feminine florals, feathers and unique ribbon choices are the elements that create this adorable boho chic gift wrap. Nikki from Tikkido adds a unique touch by braiding thin leather ribbons together to tie the whole look together.

- Vintage and Unique

Vintage botanical prints are a classic way to incorporate flowers into your gift wrapping techniques this holiday season. Photographer Nancy Neil captured these gorgeous gift boxes created by Simone LeBlanc for OnceWed. Here the floral prints take center stage and are adhered to kraft gift boxes. Paint the edges with gold paint and use hemp twine to tie everything together. To make it extra fancy, stamp a wax seal for the finishing touch.

- Rustic and Simple

Wrapped gifts make the perfect holiday decor. Paper snowflakes give these gifts a unique handmade look that’s easy to recreate. Indulge in the holiday spirit by adding dried orange slices. Not only are they pretty to look at, they add a delicate warm scent to your holiday decor.

- Classic and Rustic

These miniature wreaths are perfect for the holidays. Alicia from A Burst of Beautiful created her gift toppers from grapevine wreaths and sprigs of boxwood leaves. Combine with burlap ribbon and twine for a rustic look that’s both classic and fitting for the holidays.

- Personal and Heartfelt

Who knew that photos would make the perfect gift wrap accessory? Take your favorite holiday photos for one of the most creative gift wrapping ideas out there. Photos allow you to create a memorable experience for both your friends and family once they receive your heartfelt gift. Black and white photos also add a touch of nostalgia that’s perfect for the holidays. Simply slide them behind ribbon or string and write a special message on the back for an easy Christmas card idea.

- Handmade and Chic

Kraft paper is such a versatile material when it comes to gift wrap ideas. Molly from Almost Makes Perfectcreates these homemade gift wrap papers by hand painting them in white paint. Three techniques are used here including: dry brush, paint splattering, and simple brushstrokes. Get creative with your own designs by using different colors and techniques!

- Bold and Vibrant

There are many creative ways to add flowers to your gifts! To create these unique gift toppers, simply adhere paper flowers to the tops of your gift boxes. Pair these fun floral toppers with brightly colored boxes to make your gifts pop!

- Colorful and Fun

This gift wrapping idea is all about the washi tape. Also known as Japanese masking tape, these fun strips come in an assortment of colors and designs and are taking over the craft world by storm. This gift wrapping idea from Poppytalk uses an assortment of pastel-colored strips of washi tape to create a fun confetti-like design.

- Classy and Fresh

Incorporate fresh flowers into your gift wrapping by creating these stunning floral gift tags from Studio DIY. Simply take a few of your favorite florals and cut the blooms away from stem. Adhere the flower head to a gift tag with a hot glue gun and thread a string through the gift tag. Now you have a decorative floral gift tag that your gift recipient will remember.

- Modern and Glamorous

Combine bold and artsy prints with classic elements to create this eclectic look. Teri from The Lovely Drawercreated these free printable gift wrap designs so that you can easily recreate this unique gift wrapping idea! Adorn with classic mini gold ornaments to add a pop of sparkle and pizzazz.

- Sparkly and Playful

Did you know that you can design your own colored tapes by just using a bit of glitter and double-sided tape? The creative team over at Brit + Co created these fun stripes by adhering the tape to kraft paper and sprinkling glitter and gold holiday confetti on top. Combine your favorite colors and textures to create a design that’s uniquely your own!

- Geometric and Modern

Create this geometric look by doubling up on the gift wrapping paper. Wrap your gift with brightly colored tissue paper. Next, take a piece of kraft paper and cut designs using an x-acto knife. Then wrap the kraft paper over the tissue paper layer and you’re pretty much done! Faith from Design Fixation cut mini V-shaped slits and folded them up to create the look of adorable mini Christmas trees!

- Charming and Stylish

Use gold-tipped feathers to give your gifts a sparkling boho-chic vibe. Create your own by painting gold over paper feathers. Lia Griffith created her feathers by cutting a variety of shapes from glittered cardstock and painting the tips with a gold leaf pen. Attach them to a simple ribbon or string for an easy DIY gift topper.

The Perfect Winter-Ready Party Shoes

The weather outside may be frightful, but don't fret. There are plenty of trendy, party-worthy footwear options that hold up to winter weather. So let it snow — your feet will stay warm and toasty in these winter-repelling party shoes.

The Stylish Snow Boot

Put aside that snow boot stigma — the latest iterations of the reliable snow boot are positively stylish as party shoes. Masked as a riding boot, this winter-fortified snow boot keeps toes warm and helps prevent slips. An ivory boot with faux-fur details brings a soft femininity to a usually utilitarian style. Bonus: Top-performing boots keep feet warm in temperatures as low as 14 degrees.

The Ankle Bootie

A traditional boot's shorter cousin, the trendy ankle boot gives off serious style vibes. Ankle boots with chunkier heels and more durable soles offer functionality as well as dressiness. A slouchy flat boot is another stylish take. Tip: If your shoe is made from a softer material like suede, remember to use a protectant spray to help prevent water damage and stains. Apply every few wears to keep shoes looking their best for longer.

The Go-Anywhere Tall Boot

Tall boots are great for looking sharp in winter weather. They pair well with almost anything — leggings, skinny jeans, skirts, and dresses — and they keep feet warm. To up the fashion ante, try an over-the-knee style like this sleek black version. For a more classic look, a riding boot delivers. A wedge style offers height without sacrificing comfort. Bonus: Styles with memory-foam insoles cradle the foot for lasting comfort, whether you're schlepping through the snow or stopping by a holiday party.

The Smart Loafer

The modern loafer in a fun print or color may not take you through a blizzard, but they certainly look divine while sipping on cider. A houndstooth print loafer adds personality to an ensemble. Slip on a pair in cobalt blue to bring color into winter's otherwise monochromatic palate. Tip: For a bit more warmth, pair your loafers with textured tights or a funky, printed sock.

The Pretty-but-Practical Heel

Luckily for women everywhere, shoe designers have doggedly worked to bring us heels that work hard without looking dowdy. Keep on your feet in slippery conditions with this retro pair of slip-resistant Mary Jane pumps. A slip-resistant wedge style lends height without sacrificing comfort. Tip: Shoes with chunkier heels, like this cushiony, faux-patent pair, offer better traction on wintry terrain.

The Holiday Pump

Let's be honest: Sometimes you just want a pretty party shoe. If you don't need to trek through the tundra, why not go glam? For some holiday shimmer, slip on an eye-catching glittery pump. Or, warm your toes by the fire in a poinsettia-red peep-toe heel. Bonus: Complete the look with a festive matching clutch.

Fashion Hats for Frigid Weather

Winter used to mean having to choose between freezing half to death or pulling up the hood on your puffer jacket. Not anymore. From the world's runways to the local mall, fashion hats are making a splash. Here's what you need to know to be trendy and toasty!

Beanies

The classic beanie is back, but with a twist. Rather than fading into the background, this season's beanies demand to be noticed. Whether it's a pop of color, an adorable embellishment, or a striking pattern, the beanie is a great way to stay warm and look cute at the same time.

One of the things that makes beanies so popular is their versatility. You can wear them with anything, and they're almost always flattering. Wear with your hair loose or tucked in, or go for the middle of the road with a long side braid hanging down — it's one of this year's most popular looks.

Fedoras

Fedoras have been around since the late 1800s, but this favorite of Prohibition-era gangsters is having a resurgence at the moment. And it's not just men who are wearing them; they're everywhere in women's fashion, too. Whether it's a classic black fedora, one that's embellished with studs or feathers, or one that makes a statement with a shockingly bright color, you can use them to add some fun to a darker winter wardrobe.

The secret to wearing a fedora is to buy one that fits correctly and to wear it pulled down snug on your head. Fedoras aren't meant to be worn balanced on top of your noggin.

Fur

Fur-embellished fashion hats are big this season and you can find furry versions of everything from fedoras to beanies to some styles that defy classification. Whether you decide to go all-fur or play it safe with fur accents (like earflaps or trim), you'll have plenty of options to choose from.

How you wear a fur hat depends on the style — beanie, beret, fedora, etc. Aside from that, just keep the rest of your look subtle and classic. You want the fur to complement your look; you don't want it to overwhelm your ensemble.

Up To 30% OFF Sitewide With Kohl's Charge Card + FREE Shipping. Items included: clothing, shoes, jewelry, watches, electronics and more! Get Kohls Discounts and more kohls coupons 30% off with kohl's charge card now!
Berets

The ever-popular beret is back and can be found in styles ranging from military to classic elegance. Loved for its easy sophistication and low incidence of "hat hair," a beret is one of the easiest styles to pull off.

Unlike a fedora, a beret is intended to be worn on the top of your head — a couple of inches back from your hairline and tilted toward the back. Don't pull it down tight on your head, or you'll get a slouchy look.

Headwraps

Headwraps are a great option for women who want to stay warm but don't like wearing hats. And you don't have to stick with typical cable-knit wraps. This year's headwraps — or headbands — are as varied and chic as the season's hats. Whether embellished with a bow or knitted in eye-catching patterns, there's a headwrap out there for everybody.

You can wear a headband with your hair loose or tucked in; after all, it's basically like a beanie without a top. The tucked-in look works best with your hair piled up on your head in a bun or a clip. It's a great way to keep your ears warm without mussing your up-do.

Next time you head out the door, you don't have to choose between being warm and being stylish. Try one of these fashion hats — or try them all — to have the best of both worlds.

3 Fun Ways to Store, Display, and Enjoy Your Shoes

When you open your closet door and an avalanche of shoes fall on your head, it might be time to think about shoe organization.

If you've been putting off the task because it seems like the most boring thing in the world, here's some good news: Organizing your shoes can be quick and easy — it can even be (gasp!) fun. And afterward, you get the benefit of a clean closet, plus easier access to your glorious shoe collection.

Here are three creative shoe organization suggestions:
Shoes as Art
Who said you have to hide your shoes away? Instead, how about creating a clever, colorful display of your heels and pumps?

If you have an empty shelf on the wall, you can easily hang your pumps up with the heel on the shelf and the rest of the shoe hanging down. That way, you immediately have a rainbow-colored line of beautiful pumps on display. No shelf available? You can easily build your own.

Here's how: Simply get some strips of crown molding at your local hardware or DIY store and hang it on the wall of your choice, just as if you were setting up shelves. Crown molding is sold by the foot, so you can buy as much as you need. It's sold in a basic white color, but you can paint the strips to match your walls or decor.

All you need is to glue or nail together two long pieces of molding (one base molding and one crown molding section). Then fix the base molding to the wall using nails or a staple gun. That leaves you with the crown molding part (the section that would normally be glued to the ceiling) standing out at an angle. Hang your heels on the molding's edge; you can also set flats in the molding if you want to keep them handy. It's a great space-saver that almost looks like art.

Shoe organization doesn't have to be a pain — a little effort can get rid of those disorganized shoe piles and create a pleasantly neat space to show off your stuff. Do you have any fun ideas for storing shoes? Leave a comment below!

Snap, Snap

If you still have an old Polaroid camera lying around, now is the time to dust it off and put it to good use. If not, just use a regular digital camera and be ready to print out your tiny masterpieces.

First step: find a shoebox for each pair of shoes you want to store away. If you didn't keep the original boxes, you can find plastic replacements at home goods shops, or even home decoration or DIY stores. Budget a bit tight? Look for decorative cardboard boxes, usually sold in office supply stores or the office-supply section of big-box stores.

Next step: Snap a quick pic of the shoes before you place them in the box. If you have that Polaroid, just tape the photo to the shoebox and – yeah, you guessed it – you're all done! Next time you're looking for the perfect pair of shoes, all you have to do is scan the photos and pick a winner. No Polaroid? You'll have to print those pics before you can put the shoes away.

If photo-printing just isn't going to work, the office or home supply store will have stick-on labels to put on the boxes. Just remember to write with a bold-colored pen or Sharpie and make your descriptions very easy to understand. ("Wine-colored short boots" instead of just "boots" for example.)

Strutting Your (Boot) Stuff

Tall boots are often ignored when people look at storage options. That's because, let's face it, boots are not easy to organize. Instead of tossing them in a pile or letting them sag onto the floor, try using boot hangers, which look very much like clothes hangers on one end and clothespins on the other. That means you can simply hang them from your closet rod and clip the boots or shoes to the other end. If you want to keep your boots away from your clothes, set up a short rod behind your bedroom door or in an unused corner.

6 Ways to Look Chic with Flats

Flats are the ultimate fashion one-two punch – so comfortable to wear, but still as stylish as can be. The right pair can dress up jeans and a T-shirt yet hold their own when paired with a cocktail dress. To perk up your wardrobe with a shot of chic, check out these ideas:

- Sport your Oxfords

Oxfords can be worn year-round and lend a sophisticated feel to an outfit. Even boyfriend jeans and a simple cotton shirt look polished when worn with the menswear-inspired shoe. For a bohemian look, pair Oxfords with a floaty skirt, a fitted shirt, and a jean jacket.

- Try a pop of color

Flats in a bold color, like this pair in cobalt blue, make a statement all on their own. Wear with neutrals to truly make the color pop.

-  Go glam
Because why not feel like your feet are wearing jewelry? Combine a sparkly shoe, like this pair, with your favorite LBD.

- Embrace the pointy toe

The clean lines of a pointy-toed flat up the swish factor for any ensemble. From the office to after hours, they can go pretty much anywhere. Pair with skinny jeans, a silk blouse, and blazer for a street-ready look. Or wear with a party dress; you'll be ready to dance all night long.

-  Play with print

From leopard to lace, prints can rev up the interest level in an outfit. Worn to the office, prints inject a bit of personality into an otherwise conservative look. Wear with grays or black for maximum impact.

-  Add hardware

Embellishments and hardware, like the gold zipper on this sleek pair, can help a pair of flats stand out from the pack. Play up the theme with a biker jacket and a graphic tee.

4 Reasons You Need A Motion Sensor LED Light

Today I will share with you a simple but genius idea- a motion activated night light. These should be standard in every home. Seriously, GE Motion-Activated LED Night Lights can save you from running into a coffee table in the dark or bumping your head on the wall. They just make good sense! This post is part of a sponsored program to spread the “Gift of Light” but all opinions expressed are my own.
Why I Use A Motion Activated Night Light

I love my GE Motion-Activated LED Night Lights. They are just genius. I can’t believe I didn’t always have them. They come in handy for so many reasons.

First of all, a motion activated night light is a really nice feature to have for your house guests. When the in-laws come to visit, I use the motion activated night lights to light up the pathway to the bathroom so they can find where they are going safely and without waking the whole house.

The motion activated LED light is also useful for my own family. Even though we live here, it is still so useful to have the hallway lit up when my kids come to find us after a bad dream. Before we got the motion activated LED lights, I once jumped up in the middle of the night headed to check on my sick child who was moaning and bumped my own head right into the wall. Ouch. If only, I had my motion activated LED light then!

I also find the motion sensor LED light comes in handy for simple, everyday things. Sometimes I turn out all the lights and head to bed and then remember, I need to check my phone or get a glass of water. Instead of turning all the lights back on, I can just have my path lit up for me by the motion sensor LED light as I take care of my last minute bedtime needs.

Now you know why I use use a motion activated night light. Now, let me tell you a little bit about how to install a motion activated led light, where to use and the benefits.
How to Install GE Motion-Activated LED Night Lights

It is as simple as plugging them in! Yup, so easy. The light is motion activated up to 20 feet away and it remains on for as long as motion is detected. This means you get light as you need it without having to feel around for light switches in the dark and they are energy-efficient. The LED night lights uses just pennies worth of electricity per year! Plus, LED bulbs have a super long life so you don’t have to worry about replacing bulbs.
Where To Use A Motion Activated LED Light

These motion activated led lights add safety and security to any room in your house. They are ideal for bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and hallways. I also use them in my living room in case I need to go back for a book I forgot.
4 Reasons You Need A Motion Sensor LED Light

Ever walked through a room at night and tripped over a toy? Then you know one of the benefits of the motion sensor LED light- saving you from injury! These motion sensor lights were designed to help you see the obstacles and bring in added security to your home- for your family and your guests.

The GE motion activated night lights also help keep everyone asleep by avoiding the use of bright overhead lights.

A surprisingly clever use of the GE motion activated night is to illuminate your coffee maker so you are blinded by bright light while you make your coffee. I love this nifty morning hack!

Fall back is coming. Time is changing in early November and these GE Motion-Activated LED Night Lights can help you be ready for those dark mornings and give you time to adjust more naturally without blinding lights. #LightUpFall

10 Lessons That Travel Has Taught Me

Made me more knowledgeable

Ever since I have started travelling and mainly started writing about my experiences, I have also been able to improve my world-wide knowledge. Now I read a lot about destinations, different cultures, traditions, cuisines and other things. Now I find myself more equipped with knowledge, which has eventually made me a wiser person.

Value little things

Travel has opened my eyes to small, ordinary things of life- things that are undervalued, but have great significance. Now I am more conscious towards waiters, chauffeurs, florists, vendors and any random person whom I come across on my vacations. I have a deeper sense of respect for them, because they are the ones who make our travels smooth for us. I often make it a point to interact with people, and that makes my travel experience even more rewarding.

Shed my selfish side
It may sound funny, but travel has helped me shed my selfish side. I have always considered myself a self centered person. But travel has nudged me to look around and see life. Now I am able to view life in all its hues. I am able to relate to all kinds of people. I can think beyond my own challenges and realize the adversities faced by others. I’m able to look at others with compassion – everybody has challenges to deal with.

Mingle with people

I have learnt to mingle with people. Although I am a reserved person – I don’t speak much when I am around unfamiliar people, I have pretty much started interacting with people on my travels. Well, I am not saying that I befriend anybody and everybody, but I do initiate conversations with random fellow travelers. I believe if you don’t interact with your fellow travelers and the locals of your destination, you barely experience a place.

Boosted my confidence

I have always been as confident or as nervous as any other person, but travelling has instilled a new level of confidence in me. I am certainly more confident of myself as a person today than I ever was. When you travel, you have to manage so many things on your own – from booking accommodation to deciding where to eat and lots of other things that you do independently. At the end of the day, there is a sense of achievement that you have explored a destination on your own and that’s a big deal!

Broadened my perspective
Now I have a much better perspective of life. I have come out of my shell where all I knew was my family, my relationships, my job, my struggles and my life. Travel has opened new doors for me – I can see different aspects of life. I can understand what is important and what can be sidelined. It has helped me think beyond the traditional mindset that there is more to life than the usual.

Helped me prioritize things

Ever since I have started travelling, I know my priorities very well. I know that I want to travel as much as possible. I know what I have to save for, what makes me happy and what I have to seek in life. When I was not travelling, life was a usual rat-race. I didn’t know where I was going. I was clueless about my own ambition in life. Travel has given me a clear direction and purpose.

Given me variety

Travel has introduced me to various things – culture, people, food, architecture, landscape and so much more. I have learnt to appreciate the variety that life offers. We don’t understand it till the time we begin to travel. Now I wonder how some people get bored in their lives, when life has such wonderful things to enjoy. We just need to step out of our homes and discover the immense beauty out there.

To complain less and be grateful

It’s human nature to grumble about things. But when we travel, we are able to negate such things with ease. I have realized that I have developed an attitude of gratitude. I am more excited and thankful about life than I ever was.

Enhanced my creativity

Now I find myself more creative as a person. By creativity, I don’t mean that I have learnt some kind of art. I simply mean that I have become more creative in my day-to-day living. Travel opens our mind so much that we begin to see something interesting in everything – it could be something as simple as preparing a meal or arranging books on the shelf.

Have you traveled much? What do you think you learned about yourself and the world around you?

Tips For Setting A Thanksgiving Table

We all know that as the Thanksgiving season arrives, we are running around looking for ingredients for all of our favorite recipes, cleaning the house for company, or setting travel plans to visit family. All while somewhat cheating on Thanksgiving as we wander the isles looking at all the beautiful Christmas tree’s, lights, garland and ornaments. Some of us may already even have that tree sitting in the front windows. I know for me personally, I always strive for perfection and then drag myself into the ground trying to achieve a Pinterest worthy home. With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it brings me to the question, why not simplify?
Elegant, Simple Thanksgiving Table Settings

That is why this year, I’m really taking the time to think less about how perfect everything needs to be for Thanksgiving, and more on what I’m really thankful for during this beautiful time of year. As I pondered ways to do this, I thought about the things that stress me out the most. One place that always seems to be a source of stress, is my incessant need to have the perfect Thanksgiving table setting. For those of you who know me, you know that decorating my table, is one of my favorite things that I do year round. So, this year, I decided that that was one of the places that I was going to scale back. By doing this, I realized there was something so beautiful about it’s simple elegance. Here are my tips for setting a Thanksgiving table.

I started with place mats from Pier 1 Imports, on sale for $3.16 each. I picked something super simple and neutral. My table is smaller, so I went with round ones to maximize my space.

From there, I decided to use white plates and then a smaller decorative plate that I picked up at “At Home”. For those of you who do not have an “At Home” close by, you could easily find similar things at Target, TJ Max and Marshalls for very reasonable prices.

I then topped the plates off by adding a cute pumpkin to the top center plate to bring in that simple elegance that I was looking for.

After getting the plate settings, I wanted a really beautiful center piece that was simple and could stay up through the entire fall season, not just Thanksgiving week, so I went with dried wheat. I love the texture of dried wheat and the texture that it brought to the center of the table.

Last but least, I went on the search for goblets. I looked all over the place and low and behold, found the perfect set at Wal-Mart, designed by the Pioneer Women Line. As a side note, all of The Pioneer Women’s dishes are amazing and affordable. Next time you are at Wal-Mart, check them out, because you will not be disappointed. After bringing home my goblets, the table finally felt complete.

It not only was a table setting that I could have up throughout October and November but it was also perfect for Thanksgiving dinner. All I need to do now, is add silverware and napkins the day of and possibly some placecards. I hope you find these tips for setting a Thanksgiving table helpful.

As this Holiday season approaches, I leave a message of simplicity with you. Remember what’s really important and allow yourself the space to breath. At the end of the day, its not about the perfect recipe or the perfect simple Thanksgiving table settings, its about family and loved ones and the simplicity that brings us all together.

Best Black Friday Laptop and Computer Deals 2016 at Ebay

Electronics, including laptops and computers, are the biggest Black Friday draw. That means you can expect to see competitive pricing among retailers around the shopping holiday.

Whether you’re looking for a deluxe new system for your home office, a bargain on a student or travel laptop or a 2-in-1 tablet-laptop hybrid, your electronics store of choice is likely running Black Friday computer deals that could be too affordable to pass up.

Traditionally with Black Friday, we expect some of the better deals to be home appliances and tech gadgets. If you’ve got your eye on something with a heftier price tag, you might want to protect your purchase by paying with the right credit card. Some credit cards will pay you the difference if you find a lower price later, extend the product warranty, or protect against loss or damage.

Take a look below at some of the best deals on laptops, desktops, Apple MacBooks and iMacs, 2-in-1s and even computers for less than $100.

Best Black Friday Laptop and Computer Deals 2016

Still waiting for the best 2016 laptop and computer Black Friday deals? So are we. Keep checking back, because we’ll post them here as soon as we get the details. In the meantime, take a look at what happened in 2015 for an idea of what you can expect this year.

Best Black Friday Laptop and Computer Deals 2015

Last year, we saw discounts from practically every major electronics retailer, though some had strict windows of availability. Some laptops and computers were sold for $100 or less. For example, Best Buy offered the 11.6-inch Acer 16GB Chromebook for $99, and Dell sold the 32GB Dell Inspiron Micro Desktop online for $99 (regularly $169 each).

What to buy on Black Friday 2016

Previous models of Apple products

Traditionally, major retail stores such as Best Buy, Target and Wal-Mart discount Apple products each year on Black Friday, and previous-generation models usually see the most dramatic deals. These offers may include price cuts, free gift cards with purchase or a combination of both. This year, look for deals on MacBooks, iMacs, iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches and Apple TVs.

Last year, for instance, Target devoted almost an entire page of the bull’s-eye retailer’s 2015 Black Friday ad to Apple. Shoppers scored a free Target gift card when they bought any iPad Mini, iPad Air or Apple Watch. There was also a 20% discount on all iPods.

Gaming system bundles
Black Friday is for gamers just as much as it is for shoppers. This year, look for savings on video games and video game systems from retailers such as Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart and GameStop. You’ll find particularly great offers on gaming bundles. Traditionally, these include the game console plus a combination of games and accessories.

Last year, video game retailer GameStop took $50 off both the Xbox One 500GB Gears of War Ultimate Bundle and the PlayStation 4 500GB Uncharted Collection Bundle.

Electronics (TVs, tablets and smartphones)

Electronics deals are a Black Friday staple, and for many consumers, that means shopping for a new TV, tablet or smartphone. In 2015, Target offered an impressive $249.99 deal on a 55-inch Westinghouse LED TV.

Over at Staples, tablets were all the rage. Shoppers could save up to 25% on select iPad models. Staples also dropped the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite 7-inch down to $79.99 (regularly $139.99).

No matter where you choose to spend your Black Friday (or your Thanksgiving), you’re almost guaranteed to find TV and tablet doorbusters. Another electronics deal to keep an eye out for: smartphones. Verizon offered $100 off the retail price of select Android smartphones last year.

If you’ve got your eye on something with a heftier price tag, you might want to protect your purchase by paying with the right credit card. Some credit cards will pay you the difference if you find a lower price later, extend the product warranty, or protect against loss or damage.

Video games, CDs, DVDs

If you’re in need of some affordable stocking stuffers, look no further than the video game, CD, DVD and Blu-ray department at most major retailers this Black Friday. You’ll find films and gaming titles deeply discounted from their original prices.

In 2015, for example, Best Buy offered select Blu-ray titles for $9.99 each and up to 70 CD titles for $6.99 each. Wal-Mart had certain video games for $25 each and a selection of special-buy DVD titles for just $1.96 apiece.

Home appliances

No secret here. Black Friday is well-known for its offers of huge savings on washers, dryers, refrigerators and kitchen appliances. Look for similar deep discounts again this year.

Last year at Sears, the Kenmore 4.3-cubic-foot washer and 7.3-cubic-foot dryer were on sale for $799.98 for the pair. That’s a 57% discount. Best Buy took $1,500 off the price of a Samsung 28.2-cubic-foot 4-Door French Door Smart Refrigerator, bringing it down to $2,099.99.

If you’re in the market for smaller appliances such as coffee makers, mixers, blenders or vacuum cleaners, expect deals this year from department stores such as Kohl’s, J.C. Penney and Macy’s.

Travel deals

Whether it’s hotel rooms, ski lift tickets or airfare, you can expect big deals on travel this Black Friday and Cyber Monday (Nov. 28). Check for deals from online travel sites like Expedia and major airlines alike. Note: In the past, most of these promotions were available for a very limited time.

Online doorbusters

Finally, for the ultimate combination of convenience and savings, spring for online doorbusters this year. Plenty of big box retailers are bringing their doorbusters online this Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Office Depot and OfficeMax, for instance, will be closed on Thanksgiving Day 2016, but deals will be available online starting at 12:01 a.m. Eastern time on the holiday.

6 Ways To Mix A Scarf

You can easily change your whole look by the way you wear your scarf, so change it up with different styles! Learn how to wear a scarf in six creative ways.
Vest

The easiest way to make a scarf into a vest is to lay the scarf onto the back of your neck and drape it over your chest. Then, use a belt to keep it in place. If want to try a more advanced scarf vest, start with the longest scarf you can find. The longer the scarf is, the larger the arm openings will be. Start by folding your scarf in half lengthwise. Tie two corners along one side (one folded and one loose) together in a small knot. Open the folds and insert your arms into the armholes with the knot resting on the small of your back.

Infinity Scarf Skirt

Who says you have to keep that scarf around your neck? You can wear an infinity scarf or circle scarf as a skirt. All you need is a belt and a wide infinity scarf. Start by spreading out your scarf so that it forms a tube with no creases. Step into your scarf and hold it so that the top of the scarf is just above your waist. Fasten a belt around your waist to secure the scarf in place. Pull the top portion of the scarf up and over the belt until the skirt is the length you desire. Use a second belt to secure the extra fabric or wear it loose as a peplum. Shop gifts for fathers day at online stores, ex Ebay.com ( use ebay 20% off coupon for saving )

Top Knot Hair Scarf

Wondering how to wear a scarf in your hair? Start with an oversized bun on the top of your head. You can use a small scarf for this look. Fold a square scarf so that you are making a band about 2–2.5 inches wide (depending on how tall your bun is). Wrap the scarf band that you created around your bun, centering it at the back, and twist the two ends together twice in the front. Wrap the two pieces around the back of the bun and tie at the back.

Bow Scarf

Start with a long rectangular scarf. Wrap it around your neck so that there are two ends in front, with one being longer than the other, then fold the longer end up to create a loop. Grab the middle of that loop and turn it so that it rests horizontally. Wrap the shorter end around the folded end, starting at the back and going underneath, in front, and over. Finish by pulling the short end through the center. Pull tightly at the center to create a bow. This is a feminine look that can look refined with a silk scarf and casual with a chunky knit.

Knotted Shawl

Fold a large square scarf or pashmina in half, creating a triangle. Wrap the scarf around your shoulders with the triangle pointing down your back. Tie a knot behind your back and under your arms using the corners of the triangle. Do your best to pull the ends tight and high on your back.

Whether your scarves are woolen or silky, small or large, you can always find a new way to style them. Do you have any inventive ways of wearing the scarves in your closet? Share in the comments below!

Kimono

You will need a large (about double the width of your shoulders) square scarf for a kimono. Lay the scarf out and fold it in half lengthwise, creating a rectangle. Make a small knot in each of the two free corners, ignoring the corners on the folded edge. The armholes will be the short ends of the rectangle. Slip the kimono on using the armholes you created, placing the knots close to your underarms. This also works great if you have a blanket or pashmina available.

How to take the Perfect Christmas Card Photo

Have Fun

The goal of your photoshoot shouldn’t be to get the perfectly posed, cookie-cutter family photo, but rather a photo that really truly captures the spirit of your family. That will always be the best kind of family photo to put on your Christmas cards!

Pick a Location

Select a setting that means something special to you and your family, wherever that may be! Taking your photo shoot outside makes for beautiful, natural lighting, especially in the morning and late afternoon sun. To make your family photos more personal, you can always take the photos inside your home, just try to pick a room with an abundance of natural light.

Think About Poses

Avoid posing the family in one straight line. It can look boring and unnatural. It looks much better to stagger your subjects, by having some sitting while others stand. Take some photos with everyone looking directly in the camera, then have your family start playing around and keep snapping! Natural looking family photos, where everyone is looking each other, laughing and making silly faces, work beautifully on Christmas cards.

Enjoy 20% - 90% OFF + FREE Shipping Every Day On Daily Deals at eBay. Items included: clothing, shoes, jewelry, watches, electronics and more! Get Ebay Discounts and more ebay promo codes 20% off entire order now!

Plan Your Outfits

Pick a complimentary color scheme that the whole family can agree on. Use it to mix and match your pieces of clothing so the entire family is color coordinated. Loud, busy patterns can be distracting in photos, so try to stick to solid colors and accessories.

Point & Shoot

If you don’t have a professional camera, don’t sweat it! The cameras on smart phones have improved significantly and so have the photo editing apps. Take some test shots to make sure your family is centered and in focus. Adjust the settings on your camera so it takes several photos in a row after a 10-second delay, so you have plenty of photos to choose from.

The Best Winter Shoes to Beat the Cold-Weather Blues

It's happened to just about everybody: You buy a few pairs of cute shoes or boots for the winter, and you're really happy with them... until it actually gets cold out. You spend all winter sliding on ice and getting your feet soaked — or just being cold. The best winter shoes are always a mix of stylish and practical, but it's tough to remember the "practical" part when last winter is a distant memory.

When you go shopping this season, here are some of the best winter shoes to beat the cold-weather blues:

Rain Boots

When icy roads and cold days are in the forecast, make sure you're prepared with a pair of rubber, rain-resistant boots. Rain boots designed with a rubber upper and padded insole will keep your feet dry when you trudge through slushy streets or if you find yourself in the middle of a rainstorm. Make sure you keep a pair of thicker, cushioned socks on hand to wear with these boots — you'll need them to keep your feet warm and stabilize your foot. Show off your sense of style with a pair of printed rain boots in bright colors or keep things simple with basic black or navy this season.

Slip-Resistant Soles

Before you buy, check the soles! You need at least one pair of shoes with ridged, rubbery soles that will grip the pavement when things get slick out there. Whether you're out and about running errands or are just heading out for an evening walk, avoid accidents on those slippery pavements and sidewalks. Slip-resistant shoes are a must-have on cold and rainy days throughout the year and can be an alternate pair of shoes when you don't have time to change out of snow boots or rain boots. Take your pick of pumps, sturdy Oxfords, and cute flats with skid-resistant soles for some extra support.

Snow Boots

When you're checking out snow boots, you want to find one with an extra layer of padding and insulation to keep your feet warm. Some boots are already waterproof; for others, you'll need to coat it with waterproofing material yourself.

Whether you choose a classic lace-up style or snow boots with buckles, you can stay stylish while protecting your feet from the elements. Show off your sense of style with a pair of boots embellished with leather or faux fur details. Make sure to buy a half-size up to accommodate for thicker socks during those cold-weather days and be prepared to stow them in a waterproof bag for the day.
